Third bigger electoral college of the country, after Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais, the Rio of January is prepared to be one of the key states and with one of the arguments most incited between two candidates to the presidency in the final stage of the electoral race. Of eye, especially, in 2,6 million voters who voted for Marina Silva (PSB) for the first shift, Dilma Rousseff (PT) and Aécio Neves (PSDB) plan visits to the State in this weekend to conquer the electorate from the state of Rio de Janeiro up to Sunday of the elections. In the first shift, Dilma obtained 36 of the valid votes, Marina, 31 and Aécio, 27.
Though Dilma has conquered the leadership, it was the worst result in the Rio of January of a candidate of the PT to the presidency from the elections of 1998. There is an unpublished balance in the arguments of according to shift between PT and PSDB.

The president has before you the task to revert such a scenery. From the redemocratization, the State favors the PT in the arguments of according to shift against the PSDB, when a porcentual of votes is clearing to the party to his candidates above the national average in the presidential lawsuit. In other words, in the elections of Lula and Dilma, the Rio pulled up the final result of the candidates of the PT.
Historically, the rate of rejection to the toucans has a tendency to be bigger in the Rio of which in other States of Brazil. In ten presidential votes (first seven shifts and second three shifts) from the end of the dictatorship, the PSDB always had a less percentage of votes in the State of which in the sum of the rest of the country.
